Duties: 
POSITION DEFINITION: Provides support, training oversight and guidance to staff regarding client-related situations. In the Program Manager’s absence, acts as the designee regarding administrative, programmatic, and clinical (including emergencies) issues. Provides both direct and indirect services to clients.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Assist Program Manager in the hiring and training of new staff.
 
Lead team meetings in the Program Manager’s absence.
 
Meet with Program Manager on a weekly and/or as needed basis in order to apprise him/her of problematic/high risk situations and concerns regarding staff performance.
 
Provide back-up Officer-of-the-Day coverage during periods of short staffing and when needed by either team.
 
Work collaboratively with both the Psychiatric Consultant (s) and/or the team’s LPT/LVN in order to address medication issues.
 
Assist Program Manager in ensuring compliance regarding the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Center, and “program/site specific” policies.
 
Obtain LPS designation. Conduct 5150 evaluations and facilitate hospitalization when clinically appropriate. Additionally, assist team members in providing field-based emergency services as needed.
 
Provide individual, group, couple, and family therapy. Provide rehabilitative and case management services in both the office and in the field.
 
Conduct intake evaluations.
 
Manage a caseload of at least 8-10 clients. Submit weekly schedule of client appointments
 
Complete all required documentation, report writing and correspondence within required time frames. Complete all required outcome measures.
 
Conduct outreach and engagement (O & E) activities as needed.
 
Provide consultation/education to community partners/members as needed.
 
Attend in-service training as needed and appropriate.
 
Serve as an “on-call” clinician on a rotation basis on the Center’s After Hours Line. Provide back-up field based emergency response on an “after hours” basis in the absence of the Program Manager.
 
Currently possess a California State License as either a: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychologist. License must be current and in good standing.
 
Current NPI number.
 
Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 and related state law (LPS) confidentiality requirements. Must successfully complete the Center’s HIPAA training, pass the HIPAA test and receive the “Certification of Compliance”.
 
Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
 
Interacting with other employees at work is an essential function of the job.
 
Arriving at work on time and not leaving early is an essential function of the job.
 
Obtain DOJ clearance.
 
Have a good driving record and be insurable by the Center’s automobile insurance carrier. Attend Center’s Driver’s Safety course.
