Duties: 
Provide overall, leadership and coordination of the CHS-SUD program located at Pitchess Detention Center. Assist in program development and policies and procedures for all aspects of service programming and linkage to community resources, programming functions including individual, group treatment and case management services. Oversee CHS-SUD contact and DHS-SAPC requirements. Facilitate all program specific staff meetings including treatment team case dispositions and other meetings as requested by Assistant Director. Provide supervisory instruction to clinical and case management treatment team. Assist in the administrative functioning of the Correctional Health Services SUD program and assume daily programming responsibilities for measuring program outcomes, including but not limited to, productivity guidelines, staff morale, client requests and filing in the gaps of daily programming function such as intakes, case management and linkage. Attend all Center and community program meetings relevant to program, including but not limited to, SAPC meetings, monthly Center wide Quality Improvement (QI) Adult (QI) Administrative Supervision, etc. Provide oversight of Utilization review and documentation. Provide Crisis Intervention, assessments and enrollment criteria/regulations of program. Provide monthly in services regarding Evidenced Based Practices and cultural competency while maintaining a strong recovery orientation.
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Provide direct and indirect services to staff and clients, and oversee the programming needs of the Correctional Health Services Program.
 
Oversee Intake screenings and scheduling of intakes at Detention Facility and discuss during Case Dispositions for enrollment into program.
 
Oversee and monitor programs productivity, Units of Service, Crisis billing, and Encounters billing system (SAPC) on a monthly basis.
 
Provide supervision to staff for proficiency in completing all Center and SAPC paperwork.
 
Lead/facilitate rotation of staff meetings, staff dispositions, other meetings, or other meetings as needed or designated by Assistant Director.
 
Conduct monthly QI with program staff and insure for maintenance of program specific charts.
 
Attend community meetings as designated by program mission, SAPC or other LASD/Center/Community meetings as assigned.
 
Other tasks as assigned by Assistant Director of Re Entry and Substance Abuse Services.
Qualifications: 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPPA) of 1996 and related state law confidentiality requirements. Must successfully complete the Center’s HIPPA training, pass the HIPPA test, and receive Certification of Compliance.
 
Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Arriving at work on time and not leaving early is an essential function of the job.
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
 
Minimum of three years’ experience in substance abuse and mental health field working with persons with chronic mental illness and preferably with a forensic background. Knowledge of DSM-5 required.
 
Ability to work with multi-ethnic, multi-cultural clients in their environment.
 
Maintain current status as a licensed professional under California law.
 
Able to pass Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint and background clearance.
 
Must have a valid California Driver License in good standing and personal, valid insurance. Be insurable by the Center’s auto insurance.
 
Successfully pass the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department background application and receive clearance to participate in in custody services at Pitchess Detention Center.  Apply Here
