San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center Hires New CEO Tim Ryder

Tim Ryder has joined the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center, Inc. (SFVCMHC) as President/CEO effective July 30, 2018. He comes to the Center with more than 30 years’ experience in executive leadership positions. Prior to this position, Mr. Ryder served for 13 years as the Executive Director of Amanacer Community Counseling Service. He holds a MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

“My vision is to build on the Center’s strong foundation and reputation for excellence, and in doing so better serve our clients’ needs, improve outcomes and meeting the ever increasing needs in the community.” Addressing homelessness, overcoming the stigma of mental illness and moving lives forward with the highest quality services will be priorities. “I look forward to expanding our partnerships and collaborations with other community providers and stakeholders including medical providers, schools, housing, policy makers, law enforcement and others.”

Mr. Ryder will be in charge of all business and personnel matters, program operations and activities for SFVCMHC, which has approximately 500 employees, an annual budget of $50 million and offers 40 mental health programs serving people of all ages.

Mr. Ryder succeeds Ian Hunter, who retired after 37 years with the Center.
